My class did a show called BUGZ! The show was really fun. I had a great time. I had a solo which was super fun, and we had more hip-hop than the boys. -Sarah
(Sarah had a solo in the song the girls sang called, "Be a Lady". It was totally cute, and I can't get it to upload! Ugh.)

Be a Lady...Bug
The Chili King
With some slight tweaking of Vicki's chili recipe, the consulate community enjoyed "Red Bowl", a tasty all meat chili served with sour cream and cheddar cheese...your mouth is watering, isn't it? After evaluating 12 chilis, judges named Andy the winner of the annual Chili Cook-Off! Oh yeah.
NBA All Star Weekend!
My lucky boys...hence the mother/daughters/grandma/aunt trip to American Girl while we were in Dallas(though Andy will argue that his fun was free)!

The American Girl Store
It was really cool, because you can look around at everything you see in the magazines and more. Grandma Ricketts got me some purple sporty sneakers for Kit. I also got a tennis/golf set. Kit has a "ponytail veil" in her hair now. -Grace
There was lockers that were so cute, but we couldn't get one. Too bad. Sunny got a yoga set, and there was a girl that did Sunny's hair really nice for me. -Rachel
It was so cool, I even got a hammock. I wish I had a million dollars so I could buy every single thing. I really like the American doll stuff. -Sarah(Okay, I had to add this picture. This is the "girl" that Rachel said did her doll's hair. This nice lady spent over 30 minutes brushing out the horrifically tangled hair and made it look so nice! I should have taken before/after makeover pics of Rachel's doll. That woman's patience is amazing...)
Grandma's 90th Birthday in Dallas
Over Valentine's weekend, we visited Dallas for Great Grandma Ricketts 90th birthday celebration! We got to see Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Todd and Aunt Lori, Uncle Larry and Aunt Elyse, and most of the Prikryl clan(whom we'd never met before). We were so happy we were able to attend and visit with Great Grandma. We had a great time and were able to fit in some other fantastic activities as well...
Playing a little in the SNOW!
Eating delicious barbeque at David's in Arlington!

Tarahumara Milk Drive Bake Sale
The Tarahumara Milk Drive was held at our school. It is for little kids, 5 and under, who don't get much to eat. So, we earn money for them, and they get little packages of powdered milk to drink. We decided that we would do a bake sale at the Consulate, and it was a big success! We earned 2,042 pesos, around $200, which is enough for almost three kids to have milk for one whole year!

New Cuts
I was really excited to get my hair cut, and we tried to do it before dad got home, and we did. Dad didn't notice at first because our arms were covering our hair. I think I look really pretty. Ponytails and stuff are cool because they just flip out, and french braids make our hair really wavy when we keep them in all night. -Sarah
It was very fun because when dad got home, we were hiding behind the door, and when dad got home he talked to mom, and we jumped out and said "BOO" and he was scared. My hair is shorter than to do regular hair. I look cute. -Rachel
Eagle-ette of the Month
Again this year, Sarah was chosen as an Eagle-ette of the Month at ASFM. She remembers to "Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Caring, Be Honest, and to Be a Thinker." Way to go Sarah!
Los Rayados de Monterrey
A friend gave us tickets to see the Rayados, one of two soccer teams in Monterrey, so I got to see my first live soccer game! I have to say that I am a fan. The clock never stops for time-outs or fouls or play reviews...the players are running constantly for the entire game. And the NOISE! I thought it was great to hear the fans chanting and singing the entire game. They've got to be as exhausted as the players at the end of it. The Rayados played Cruz Azul from Mexico City, and won 3-2. It was really fun to jump up and yell Gol! each time we scored. I don't know about the kids, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Rachel's 5th Birthday!
My baby turned 5 years old! Yikes. Rach decided to go with the Princess and the Frog theme for her birthday, even though we haven't seen the movie yet! Everyone did princess sticker pages, pinned the crown on the frog, and played freeze dance (with DJ Andy mixin' up some Earth, Wind and Fire). I have to say the freeze dance was a hit! We didn't get around to a couple other frog-themed games that Grace had planned, but I think Rachel and her friends had a great time anyways. Happy Birthday Rachel! You are growing up to be such a sweet, smart girl, and your funny comments always make us laugh. We are so happy you are part of our family!
