Gingerbread Houses!

We invited some friends over to make gingerbread houses with us, and we all had a good time. The kids were very creative with their houses...Jake had some sort of gingerbread robot with gummy bear minions working on his house. Grace used the white icing to decorate most of her house, then left half of the roof off so she could fill it up with M&Ms. Sarah made Santa on the roof, his sleigh on the ground, and a gingerbread kid peeking to see Santa. Rachel made a cute snowman out of big marshmallows and a mint-chip Christmas tree. It is always fun to see how different each house turns out! I love it.

Sarah's Gymnastics Program

Sarah's Christmas Choir Performance

The school choir performed in a Christmas Festival organized by Nuevo Amanecer, an organization of schools for children with Down's Syndrome. I think our school, ASFM, works with this organization, so the kids were invited to sing. It was downtown in the city theater, where the Nutcracker was being performed. Sarah was excited, and she loved being on stage!

The Pledge of Allegiance

Sarah was chosen to recite the pledge of allegiance again this year for a school-wide assembly. I'm glad she can remember it, and I'm happy that Rachel will be able to learn it next year in Kindergarten. I hope all of my kids can remember it, as we don't recite it in school.

My Girl Scouts

So, we decided to join Girl Scouts USA this year. I am one of the Junior Scout leaders over Grace and Sarah is a Brownie. I think the girls have fun with it! They especially like getting patches... I've got six to sew on right now...
